Eye of the Beholder...

One gorgeous girl, one great Prada dress, 2 street-style blogs, 2 points-of-view. Obviously it's the girl that makes the pic - but what about what the photographer brings to the moment? I love this comparison here as both are incredible and yet so different. Preference?

Out of topic, but I just stumbled upon your blog and love it. You're from Montreal right? I'm going to be there next week. Any suggestions on good sales/shops?

Dore hands down. The yellow hues and lighting really accentuate the dress and look that the woman is trying to pull off. I like the shade too. They set an interesting mood with the dimmer lighting. Very nice blog. one of the chicest that I've run across so far!! Would you like to swap links? My classic-style themed blog is www.choubelle.wordpress.com ...hope you don't mind, I've just added you already! :)

About the straw fedora: I saw some at the Bay men's department too! (on manequins) They were so high though and I was busy strolling my baby that I didn't get a chance to try one on :(
Great sales going on now!!!

Garance! She adds a more intimate feel to her photo and creates a mood. Sart's foto is aesthetically pleasing, but lacks these things.

the shot from the sartorialist himself is much better for a couple of reasons, the first one that the dress feels so prada/fairy-esque that it forces its wearer to have her hair down and walk with a smile on her face.
The second reason being completely based on visual eye-candy, the photo from garence dore makes the dress blend into the background- distracting. Whereas the other photo has the woman almost walking out of a park, the tree behind her even compliments the dress's design and thus almost "story-like"

I would say the second one, it's more lively and the dress looks more attractive in that lighting. The buildings take away from the dress in the first.

the "warm" in the garance picture is so marvelous, so intimate, i love it.
I guess is def a more "girl" picture, you can see the difference.

I can't choose...both pictures are very nonchalantly flattering.

I saw both pictures and just assumed they were of different women. I love them both, even though I could never see myself wearing that dress.

i would have to say satorailist the movement allows the dress to flow and makes it more interesting picture

I prefer the loose hair and easy going picture. Her personality seems to shine more in that one... or I'm just biased because I prefer that style. :)

look at how he captured the fluidity of both the fashion and art.

garance is art. that other guy, not so much.

Hilarious that you compare the two, since they are lovers and feed off each other's love for themselves. I know this because I am married to the Sartorialist, with two lovely children, and have only just learned of this affair between two ego-driven, selfish people.

Dore without a doubt. The colours are so mood inducing and the effect much more impactful. A beautiful photo.
