Eye of the Beholder...

One gorgeous girl, one great Prada dress, 2 street-style blogs, 2 points-of-view. Obviously it's the girl that makes the pic - but what about what the photographer brings to the moment? I love this comparison here as both are incredible and yet so different. Preference?

Bien Sûr - C'est L'Amour!

If you visit this site even somewhat regularly (still shocked that you keep coming back) you might know a few random facts about me. Amongst them are probably the following:

1. I'm having a Margeila moment and
2. Une Fille Comme Moi by Garance Dore´ is quite possibly my favorite street style blog.

So - now knowing these 2 things (if you didn't already) you will understand why the following image stopped me in my tracks. I don't know if I've ever laid eyes on someone so unmistakably cool (for serious lack of a better term). Her edgy summer whites made all the better by her shredded Margeila jeans and tron sunglasses. Not to mention the brilliance of the moment flawlessly captured on film by Garance - white-washed to perfection.

I Wanna be a ROBOT

I just returned from 4 days in LA, and all I have to say is if I see one more maxi dress I might puke. I arrived back in time however to see the refreshing images of Alexander Mcqueen's resort collection. And honestly - LA could use a little dose of structure. All those sloppy knits truly do nothing for a ladies physique. So what is it about Mcqueen's latest venture? Square shoulders (obvious references but that's ok), mixing bold black with the newest neutral du jour (nude) and a dose of fluorescent on top. I'm telling you - structure ladies, structure!

All Saints, Pray For Me...

...because I just discovered that the British online store ships to Canada! Ahh! My credit card is already worse for this discovery.

Normally, I end up in London about twice a year and I can plan for my All Saints excursions. Such is my devotion that the store is now the FIRST stop on my shopping list (yes - you heard it - BEFORE Topshop!) What I love about the brand is it's consistent vaguely "Rick Owens" asethetic. It's not the sequins or prints that get me in there it's the leather, accesories and tailoring that tugs on my purse strings. So what is being shipped you might ask? Dirty White Fringe Bag and Yoni Military Jacket. The other 2 followed me home from London about a month ago. Argh.

Shape Shifting

Resort collections are not about new ideas. They are about evolution. Shape evolution mainly. They are not a colour focus - although colour may apprear. They are the bridge that joins Fall to Spring and Spring back again to Fall. And they are also certainly NOT an opportunity to bastardize nautical themes.

Anyhoo, Phi is a perfect example of what resort should be. New silhouettes - subtle shape- shifting. Volume quietly sliding from the top to the bottom. Sleeves unhinging, blazers shortening and all while you thinking - when is this available??

Rollin' Rollin'

Dresses have reigned supreme for many a season now but the rumblings have already started with discussions about "separates" taking over and new pant silhouettes seem to be consuming column inches in the pages of Vogue. That's why my yen and yearning for cropped and rolled pants kind of comes as no surprise. Finding them however seems to be another matter??

Working for the Man...

If you've endured a positively shit day like me, I suggest you just take a peak at the "shenanigans" going on at American Apparel. It put a genuine smile on my face and actually may have made me laugh out loud. It seriously makes any workplace bull-shit seem straight-up amateur. Sure - I'm still embarrassed to admit that I buy the odd piece of AA to work-out in - but then again that's only cause I'd rather swallow a yoga mat than buy Lulu Lemon. Comments?

YSL Dies at 71

After battling a long illness the legendary king of fashion, Yves Saint Laurent, reportedly passed away at his Paris apartment Sunday night. And although he apparently wished that he would've invented blue jeans - we'll have to be content with Le Smoking and many other iconic pieces left behind.
