After spending a hectic week in Paris and 3 days in London, I experienced first-hand the power that was Balmain. Pretty much Colette, Topshop and every store in between was making money off the back of Christophe Decarnin in some form or another. Colette we're talking prime real estate - Topshop too but clearly at a slightly lower -ahem- price point (and mild interpretation). And if the blockbuster show from Monday is any indication - I would say we're in for another deluge of Balmain. Thank God.

My head is in a vice/fuzzy cloud right now due to one to many cocktails last night. Ergh. Through the fog I'm thinking about this ed from French Vogue. High/lo... sliding silhouettes... street cred... boots... leather... hard and soft... the 80's... and the 90's. Just can't get enough.
I know - this may seem very specific but I swear it's the quintessential item that will set you apart from the rest. Everyone will be sporting black leather jacket this Fall - they will be selling them in the mall kiosks that how mass market they'll be. So what to do? Take off the sleeves and layer it up like the layering Goddess that you are. It'll work wonders over a dress or skirt ensemble or just give some cool cred to your oldest skinny jeans. Come on even Sam Ro's looking fine in one...
