YSL SVP...

Alright so obviously you'd have to be a hermit not to have heard and headed the wise words of all the economists right now... but should we be "embarrassed" during the recession to carry a designer handbag? If I invest in one bag and carry it everyday for at least a year - instead of buying 2 or 3 cheaper bags to get me through the same time... what's the diff? Regardless, I'm in lust with this YSL Besace bag. It's subtle, sophisticated and doesn't look at all like one of those (shudder) "it" bags!

Sparkle and Shine...

I don't know why but I kind of can't wait for the holidays to be over. I know that's very bah-humbug of me... but it's just where I'm at. That being said - I do occasionally feel the need to add some sparkle to my wardrobe. However - take note ladies - you can only add one piece of sparkle per outfit - and in my books said sparkle is ALWAYS better when played way down. Be inspired. xx

What Does Gareth Pugh Smell Like?

Hmm. Interesting question that only Seven New York would try to figure out. The purveyors of all things cool has championed a new collaboration between 6 designers, perfumers and a charity. Alexandre Herchovitch, Bernhard Willhelm, Cosmic Wonder, Gareth Pugh, Jeremy Scott & Preen for "Designers Against Aids (DAA)". And just when you thought designer collaborations might be over. Go now... add to xmas list. Done.

Now I'm Just Getting Upset...

I'm seriously having a shoe crisis. I don't know what evil force placed me in Montreal! Clearly a city with a shoe-less soul. If I was a brave soul, I would quit my day-job immediately and open a REAL shoe store in this great city. Montreal-ers everywhere are agreeing with me - I know it. Until then I'll dream of these ridiculous Prada's... who even knew pretty and edgy existed side-by-side so seamlessly??

Rebel Yell

I assume WWD is referencing Billy Idol and not an actual "rebel yell" battle cry when they titled this editorial. Nevertheless you will be a fan - let's just say La Lanphear inspired hair and a dose of leather with stiletto's. When are we going to be over this look?? Hmm.

Fashion Tribes

Jak & Jil once again captures fashion tribes in their nature environment providing further anthropological fashion fodder for coming generations to analysis...

Me and My Big Mouth...

Dear God! I think I've spoken too soon! When I expressed dismay at style.com's hasty critique of Rodarte's unequivocally brilliant spring collection - I certainly did not mean THIS!  What is this world coming to when Britney Spears dons Rodarte?? Either a) she has a new stylist b) the Rodarte girls secretly heart Britney Spears c) the world is ending. Excuse me while I go ponder deep thoughts...

Naked Eye...

Sometimes one needs a little payback for all this blogging... and today was payday! Lovely Eliza from My Empty Closet did an article on Susie Bubble and The Glossy for Montreal based magazine Naked Eye  that I had all but forgotten about it... until she emailed me some pics of the article today! I still have yet to go get the mag, but I'll post the full article when I do! Thanks again Eliza:)

I Wanna Shag

2 girls with looks after my own heart - rockin' the shaggy styles. I seem to have procured not one, but two of these ridiculous appendages this season. I like to wear them over my skinny leather jacket... although someone did ask me if one was made out of a bath mat - ouch. Not to be dissuaded, I think I like them even better knowing that they're not for everyone...

Between a Rock and a Hard Place...

Lara Stone for I-D magazine looking like a modern-day Brigitte Bardot. Love that in the interview she comes off as genuine and a little nerdy... and still a little surprised that the fashion world is so smitten with her. Lovely.

On her breasts:
"will you stop asking me questions about my tits?" "Oops sorry, but the world seems rather obsessed with them..."

On the catwalk:
"I hate catwalk because 1) I'm not very good at it, 2) I'm always scared shitless and 3)... I suck at it. I cannot walk in heels. At all. I'm always completely terrified I'm going to fall over, which I did three times my first season.

On music:
"anything depressing. Heaven Knows I'm Miserable Now is my favourite song, I'm convinced Morrissey wrote it about me."
