And More Tie-Dye Denim... Please?

OK so noted that I'm really behind on this one... but as I dashed through Oxford Circus in London before catching my plane I ducked into Urban Outfitters to check out their "Boutique" floor. Ya you know it... many flights of stairs later you're at the top where the good stuff is hiding. And what did I find? THE tie-dye dress! Yes the infamous Teen Voguette Karen Walker tie-dye dress! Needless to say I suddenly pictured wearing this everyday of the summer and then some with all current footwear and layering pieces. It seemed like it might just be the perfect piece. Oh ya - except that it was a UK12 (which I'm not). And it's last season - so acutally it doesn't really exist anywhere anymore. Argh. Another DIY??

I don't know if I could pull that off but it is cute. It looks like the bottom has more white in the teen vogue pictures though. I guess because it is tie-dye they all come out differently.
What I really want are her boots!!!!! To die!!!

SATORI - sorry to disappoint you but it was THE Karen Walker dress! At Urbs in London they carry great labels on the top floor.

This dress is just too cool. I read your previous post, did you check out the bleached denims on topshop.com ? I found mine in Guerissol, a very trashy thrift store in Paris. You should try that too.
Your blog is great, I've been reading it for a while and just added you to my blogroll. Take care, xx MOodie

I can imagine that dress looking fantastic and edgy even if it's a little loose. It seems to have an elastic waist...plus paired with a tight vest/jacket or cinched with a belt, voila, perfect!

Did you diy it? Could you post up the steps on how you did it? I want to give it a go but I'm not too sure how to get the same effect. I'm thinking of diy-ing the Karen Walker tie dye acid wash skirt and and dress - I want both!! I can't find them anywhere, the skirt came up secondhand a while ago but at the time I couldn't afford it =[

Anon - tie elastic bands around your garment (the more elastics the blue will be left over and the more crazy the tie dye pattern). possibly try on a tee before you through in your jeans and skirt! then mix bleach with water in a bucket (wearing your worst clothes ever bleach is evil) and put in whatever you want to dye. watch closely. rinse and voila!
